What is a Break and Run? Immediately only after the break shot, a player runs the balls and makes the 8 ball for the win. A missed shot instantly cancels any opportunity for a Break and Run for the next player. It can be the breaking player or it could be the incoming player, if the breaker does not make a ball, on the break. The only time, immediately after the break,that the incoming player would not qualify for a break and run, would be if the breaker scratches on the break. (Making the 8 ball on the break, is not a "Break and Run")
