THE GOLDEN
CLUBS GOLF LEAGUE
It will cost
$25 to be a member. Which will put you in every event.
(or you can pay $5.00 per event)
Drawing out the pairings at
20 minutes before tee time.
There will be 10 events +
League Championship
There
will be 2 events going on, at the same time each event.
1.
A stroke play tournament against the entire field.
A. GROSS winners ( Win points for the league + prizes
for the 1st place GROSS winner )
B. and HANDICAP NET winners ( Win money )
2.
An individual BOXING match against your random opponent.
THE BOXING
MATCH
From
everyone that signs up to play on a given Sunday. There will be a random draw as to
who plays who.
The
match against your opponent will be a 3 rounds of match play
Round 1 Holes 1 to 6 – Round 2 Holes 7 to 12 – Round 3 Holes 13 to 18
or
if you start on back 9 Round 1 Holes
10 to 15 – Round 2 Holes 16 to 3 – Round 3 Holes 4 to 9
You
start over at ALL SQUARE for each 6 hole round.
POINTS
AWARDED or SUBTRACTED in the BOXING MATCH + a SPARING 1 point for participating
in an event
If
you WIN all 3 rounds, that would be
a KNOCKOUT, KO=6 points
If
you WIN 2 MORE rounds than your
opponent, that would be TECHNICAL
KNOCKOUT, TKO=3 points
If
you WIN 1 MORE round than your
opponent did, that would be a win by DECISION
=1.5 points
Otherwise
it would be a TIE, or DRAW= 0 points
If
you LOSE by KO = -3 points
If
you LOSE by TKO = -1.5 points
If
you LOSE by DECISION = -.75 points
For each event you
participate in, you get a SPARING POINT of 1
SPECIAL RULE – If you are
the higher ranked (favorite) player and beat a player with a ranking difference
of 9 or MORE then a KO=4.5 points, TKO=2.25 points, DECISION= .75 points, DRAW
= -1 point, instead of the normal points for a win.
BONUS
POINTS FOR AN UPSET WIN or TIE ,in addition to regular
points for a win !
If
a lower ranked player beats a higher ranked player, then BONUS POINTS will be
awarded as follows, for an upset victory or tie;
If
by KO = The DIFFERENCE in rankings (Example – 9th
rank beats 3rd ranked would = 6 bonus points + 6 points for a KO)
If
by TKO = The DIFFERENCE in rankings
divided by 2 (Example – 10th rank beats 2nd ranked =4
bonus points + 3 points for a TKO)
If
by DECISION = The DIFFERENCE in
rankings divided by 3 (Example- 12th rank beats 5th
ranked =2.33 bonus points + 1.5 points for a DECISION)
If
a NO DECISION = The DIFFERENCE in
rankings divided by 4 (Example- 14th rank plays 2nd
ranked to a tie= 3 bonus points + 0 points for DRAW)
ALSO A
STROKE PLAY (Gross score & Handicap score) TOURNAMENT
Each event against the entire field. So putt out each hole and
no gimmies, even though in part you are playing match
play.
LEAGUE
POINTS AWARDED as follows
The
NUMBER of players multiplied by 2 = the points to be played for in GROSS stroke
play
1st place 40% of the points
2nd place 25% of the points
3rd place 17% of the points
4th place 10% of the points
5th place 5% of the points
6th place 3% of the points
Ties
for 1st place will be broken by scorecard playoff (Gross Score), starting on hole 18 and going backwards. (Only to determine the winner of
the event) points will be divided amongst tied playes,
even for first place
HANDICAP
STROKE PLAY WINNERS ( NET SCORE )
Prize money will be paid $1 for 1
point using the percentage scale as above,but
by NET score. Your money will
accumulate and will be paid at the end of the league season in the form of a
gift certificate to Hidden Hills
Your
handicap will be the average (rounded up) of your HOME USGA handicap+ 70
and or your GOLF LEAGUE AVERAGE from last season
TEE’s and
playing the ball DOWN
Blue
tee's - 55 and over can play the WHITE tee’s -70 and
over can play the RED tee’s
MAJORS
play the GOLD tee's - 55-59 BLUE tee's - 60 -69 play the WHITE tee's - 70 and
over the Red tee's
In
the event there is an ODD number of players. Then 1
player, at random, will play against a fictional Muhammad Ali. Ali’s score will be drawn randomly from a possible;
1- Double Bogey
4- Bogeys
11- Par’s
2- Birdies
For a score of 76
Everyone
will accumulate points each week that will determine the rankings each week.
The
first week rankings will be determined by your USGA handicap INDEX, and the
first time you play in an event you will be ranked that week based on your USGA
handicap index relative to the initial first rankings based on the indexes.
TROPHY for
the HEAVYWIEGHT CHAMPION
The
top 12 at the end of the league will be invited to play for the HEAVYWEIGHT
CHAMPIONSHIP. 1vs4 and 2vs3 and the winners play each other.
The
next 4 will play for the WELTERWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP 5vs8 and 6vs7. And the next
4 will play for the LIGHTWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP 9vs12 and 10vs11.
